Object renderer component
The Object renderer component allows you to enrich the label of objects with additional information. You can create object renderers for categories as well as in print reports and for components in the portal report. If an object view has been created and configured for a category, objects of the category will be displayed everywhere in Aeneis as defined in the object view. If an object renderer has been created and configured in a print report or in the portal report, objects are only displayed at the configured location as defined in the object renderer.
With the help of the object display you can also
-
define the direct output of an object in a report
-
configure the output of detailed information
-
define whether an object appears in the alphabetical index
-
define if referenced documents should be attached
Note: The standard behavior without specific object renderer is sufficient for most applications. The use of object renderers is only necessary for special requirements. These can usually be represented with one or a few object renderers that are defined in the report.
When an report component is evaluated, an applicable object renderer is searched for in the following order:
-
in the report component,
-
in the report in which the report component was configured,
-
in the category of the object.
If no applicable object renderer is found, the default object renderer is used.
Configuration:
You can create object renderers for all possible portal components. There are short configurations for categories, user groups and ACLs as well as for the visibility of views.
To structure object renderers logically better, you can create them hierarchically. For this purpose, you can in turn create object renderers in an object renderers. The first object renderer is selected for which all conditions (those of the superordinate object renderer(s) and of the current one) apply.
Property |
Description |
---|---|
Configuration | |
Model object macro |
Enter a velocity macro here that determines the displayed name of the object on output. If no model object macro is defined, the label is output. See also: For more on velocity macros, see Velocity macros. |
Conditions | Here you can see which conditions are configured for the object renderer. You also have the option here to reference or create conditions via the text box or the buttons to the right of the text box that define when the object renderer is valid. |
Include objects in index |
If this option is activated, the objects will be included in the Keywords glossary/Alphabetical index of the print report. A further restriction can be stored in the directory/index. |
Object / value renderers | Add more object or value renderers here to structure them hierarchically. The first object renderer is selected for which all conditions (those of the superordinate object renderer(s) and of the current one) apply. |
Details components |
No longer relevant for portal 7. |
Link documents |
If this option is activated, documents/files referenced in the object are embedded/attached to the print report. |
Valid for |
Select here when the object renderer should be valid:
|
Attributes (search) |
Reference here attributes that will be displayed in the reference table in the search as columns with the contents of the found results. Example: In an object renderer for the Employee category, the attributes Name and Email are referenced here. If employees are referenced in a property in the WebModeller, the name and email address are displayed in the reference table in the search for the found employees. |
Print styles | |
TextStyle |
If an object renderer is configured in a report, a paragraph format available in the report can be assigned to it (e.g. to highlight the object). |
Attach documents:
In Aeneis external files can be attached to objects. In the standard schema, these are external references, for example. If the Link documents property is activated in the object renderer, these files are transferred to the report document. An image is displayed at the position where the object is output. Double-clicking the image opens the attached document.
Accompanying process information can thus be transferred directly into the report document. Linked content is directly integrated into Aeneis and does not have to be stored on the computer.
