Modeling with the Auto-Layouter
When modeling BPMN diagrams, Aeneis supports you with the Auto-Layouter by default. When you model a BPMN diagram, the Auto-Layouter automatically positions BPMN elements and arranges them proportionally to other elements. In the diagram you can specify the BPMN elements, their order, additional information and properties (e.g. assignment to a role). While you are modeling, the Auto-Layouter keeps readjusting the overall layout of the BPMN diagram.
In BPMN diagrams, the following layouter versions are available:
-
Aeneis 5.2
-
Aeneis 5.3
-
Aeneis 5.4
-
Aeneis 5.5
-
Aeneis 5.5a
-
Aeneis 6.0
-
Aeneis 6.3
-
Aeneis 7.0
By default, the layouter version Aeneis 7.0 is used. You can set the version of the Auto-Layouter in the properties of a BPMN diagram:
Tip: The layouter Aeneis 7.0 features extended layout optimization and is therefore recommended.
Manual mode
In Layouter 5.2 and 5.3, a manual mode is also available. In this mode you can position the shapes manually.
Note: Manual mode is also available in newer versions of Aeneis for compatibility reasons. However, the manual mode will not be further developed. Therefore, the automatic layouter is recommended in higher versions.
