Assign scopes to a directory object
In the UserAdministration you can assign specific Selectable scopes or default scopes to individual users or user groups.
The Selectable scopes assigned to a user can be chosen by him/her in the Portal. If a user has no scopes assigned to him/her, he/she inherits the Selectable scopes of the groups to which he/she is assigned. If the user is not assigned any Selectable scopes even through his/her groups, he/she can select all existing scopes.
The default scopes assigned to a user are active by default when the user logs in.
Note: Default scopes can only be assigned by administrators in the UserAdministration.
Note: When scopes are assigned to a group, all members who do not have specific scopes assigned themselves automatically have the scopes of the group.
Instruction:
-
Open the UserAdministration
-
Select a user or group from the list.
-
Assign the scopes in the Properties in the Permissions area for Selectable scopes and Default scope(s):
Note: Make sure that the Selectable scopes are also visible to the user in the model overview. To do this, use an Access Control List (ACL) that gives the user permission to see the corresponding model objects. See also Access Control Lists (ACLs).
