Create drawing objects
Drawing objects are the graphical modules of a diagram. Drawing objects include shapes and forms.
Note:
Difference between shape and form: Shapes are referenced to a model object. Forms, on the other hand, are pure forms of representation without reference to objects.
Create shapes
You can create shapes in the WebModeller as follows:
-
Drag and drop a shape from the drawing palette into the drawing area
-
Drag and drop an object from the model overview into the drawing area
-
Create a shape using the context-sensitive menu of an existing shape (only in BPMN diagrams)
Create forms
You can create forms in the WebModeller in freehand diagrams.
Instructions:
-
Open a freehand diagram in WebModeller
-
Drag and drop a shape from the drawing palette under Shapes into the drawing area:
Note: In freehand diagrams you have the additional option to create a symbol. To do this, drag and drop the Create Symbol entry from the drawing palette into the drawing area and select a symbol. The created symbol is like a shape and can be edited just like shapes.
Result:
The form is created and does not reference any object.
