Types of scopes

Scopes are divided into the following types:

Selectable scopes
Default scopes
Session scopes

Note: You set the Selectable scopes and default scopes for a user or user group in the UserAdministration. See also Assign scopes to a directory object.

Selectable scopes

Selectable scopes, are the scopes that a user can enable and disable during the session.

Default scopes

The default scopes are the scopes of a user that are enabled by default when logging in to the Portal. Default scopes are session scopes that are set automatically.

Session scopes

Session scopes apply to the current session. Users can restrict the default scopes for their session with the Selectable scopes. As soon as the user logs off, the settings of the session scopes are discarded again.
